Brett Green is a Level 5 throws and Level 3 Middle/Long distance coach who has been coaching for more than 35 years. During this time he has coached numerous athletes to Commonwealth Youth, World Junior, World Youth and Commonwealth Games.

He is currently the Head of Helensvale State High Track And Field Academy (whose alumni includes Sally Pearson and Michael Shelley). He is also the Papua New Guinea Head Coach for Throws, the Queensland team coach for Throws and the Queensland Target Talent Program throws coordinator.

Brett’s coaching philosophy is that everyone has some sort of talent and ability, and that his task as a coach is to guide the athlete to explore and find this talent, then arm them with the tools to enhance it to the full potential. He also believes that sport prepares the individual to cope with the trials and tribulations of life. It is not what happens that is important but how you respond to it.
